Director of Admissions

Job duties for Director of Admissions:
Maintains occupancy of the facility at the highest level possible- Works with clinical team and Director of Census Development to manage referral process
- Communicates with referral sources
- Communicates, meets with, tours, and completes all necessary paperwork with resident or resident representative
- Acts as a liaison to resident and family throughout Admissions process
- Facilitates pre-authorization with insurance companies as appropriate
- Communicates with resident and/or representative regarding insurance coverage as needed
- Maintains census data and works with central Billing Office to ensure that billing is correct as to days and payer
- Provides admissions notice to various departments of Village Care Center such as dietary, social services, nursing, etc.
- Participates in weekly meetings related to management of short term rehab stays
- Assists with facilitating transition from short term rehab to long term care from an Admissions standpoint when appropriate
- Works with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team on discharge planning of residents when required
- Participates in planning, development and implementation of strategic changes and or modifications to operations necessary to ensure viability and appropriate operational issues are addressed
- Participates in weekend and holiday on-call rotation
- Other tasks and duties as assigned by the Administrator/Executive Director
EDUCATION, SPECIALIZED AND/OR TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
High school education required, 2 year degree in nursing, business or human services desired, four year degree in nursing, business or human services preferred.
