Summary
Provides innovative leadership to maximize the department’s contribution to overall hospital performance through effective planning as well as human and financial goals of the hospital. Responsible for assuring departmental contribution to overall organization's mission and goals. Under the administrative direction of the designated administrative staff member. Incumbent is responsible for all shifts, 7 days/week, 24 hours/day and subject to overtime and callback as required.
Responsibilities
. Plans, implements and markets services which meet the needs of identified internal and external customers through evaluation and assessment of customer needs and expectations resulting in development of improvement plans with measurable goals to enhance services.
. Provides leadership through facilitating vision/values through personal example and interaction with staff to communicate policies and goals, which will result in enhanced employee skills, management, and leadership.
. Directs overall operational management through assessment of department’s operations and interaction with staff and customers to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
. Controls overall financial/budgetary management of the department through evaluation of products and services and analysis of departmental operations, implementation of workload standards, review of operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction and enhance profitability and optimal resource utilization.
. Facilitates customer satisfaction by communicating and interacting with key internal and external customers to identify opportunities for improvement resulting in enhanced service and customer satisfaction.
. Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Knowledge/Education:
Minimum Required: Bachelor's Degree with 2 years experience
Preferred: MS/MBA with 4 years experience, or a BS with 6 years experience.
Experience:
Minimum Required: No degree with 6 years experience
Preferred: Experience must be in healthcare with demonstrated abilities to direct team activities as well as in basic business applications
