Training
Preferred: Technician training program/academy.

Works under the direct supervision of the pharmacist in providing pharmaceutical care services, while considering patient specific factors. This could be through the prioritization and processing of medication orders, the preparing of medications for dispensing, distribution and stocking of patient care locations for subsequent drug administration.
Responsibilities
- Participates the Medication-Use Process: Procures, handles, prepares, distributes, charges/credits and disposes of hazardous medication safely and accurately.
- Consistently works in a hazardous drug environment so if competent in USP 800 regarding preparation of product and maintenance of the pharmacy space.
- Mixes chemotherapy and other drugs as ordered by physician using appropriate aseptic technique and following company policies and procedures as well as state/federal regulations.
- Involved in processing and preparing hazardous sterile products for dispensing.
- Participates in inventory management of hazardous drugs
- Performs data collections, assembly and interpretation for limited quality programs.
- May use and maintain automation/equipment.
- Provides education/training as appropriate
- Contributes to goals, programs and report cards for operational unit and entity.
- Performs other duties as assigned
