Summary
Handles phone calls in a prompt and courteous manner. Assists staff, patients, providers, and general public in providing information, directions, and routes calls to appropriate departments. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the central call center for all NEA Baptist clinics by answering, transferring and taking messages for incoming and internal calls.
- Assist patients, visitors and callers by providing directions as needed. Looks up information and numbers.
- Sort letters and type envelopes. Run lists for reminder cards.
- Maintains sign-in book and visitor badges.
- Assist patients with finding the appropriate provider and location that best suits their needs.
- Page overhead codes / incidences and alerts ambulance statuses.
- Contacts departments and maintains call schedules and provider schedules.
- Maintains updated call lists.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Education
Minimum : HS Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience
Preferred : 6 - 12 months preferred relevant experience in a clinic, medical office, or hospital setting with understanding of basic medical terminology.
