Responsibilities
Provide counsel on clinical research matters and advise Baptist Institutional Review Board and Clinical Research Institute
Advise Baptist and its hospitals and healthcare providers on regulatory compliance, including HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute
Draft and negotiate complex healthcare contracts and agreements
Stay abreast of changes in healthcare laws and regulations to proactively guide clients
Requirements, Preferences and Experience
Qualifications
J.D. degree and active bar membership or eligible for bar membership in Arkansas, Mississippi, or Tennessee
2 years of legal experience, preferably with exposure to transactional and regulatory work
Strong knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations
Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
5 years of experience in health law, preferably with a mix of transactional and regulatory work
Mississippi bar membership
Prior experience in-house at a healthcare organization or healthcare-related government agency
Specific expertise in areas like clinical research, higher education law, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute or general and professional liability claims.
