Summary
Our security officer patrols and protects the entire campus, inside and outside. Responds to all incidents or calls relating to the safety and security of all persons and property on campus. Demonstrates exemplary customer service skills and maintains a professional appearance as an ambassador of the organization.
Responsibilities
• Patrols the entire campus to deter crime and identifies corrective actions for physical security or safety hazards.
• Responds to calls for disruptive behavior, disturbances, and combative patients, as well as internal or external alarms.
• Enforces hospital policy and procedure, and State and Local laws/ordinances as needed for the safety and security of all persons and property on campus.
• Submits necessary reports in a prompt and professional manner.
• Performs escorts related to money transfers, secures patient valuables upon request, and provides non-monetary escorts for staff, visitors, physicians, and patients as needed.
• Controls parking on the property, emphasizing critical and emergency parking areas.
• Completes assigned goals.
Requirements, Preferences, and Experience
Education
Preferred: High school graduate or higher.
Minimum: Equivalent to completion of 4 years of high school or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
Preferred: 1 year of experience in the security field or prior experience in military or law enforcement.
Licensure, Registration, Certification
Minimum: Current driver's license.
Special Skills
Basic computer literacy skills required.
