About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team. As an MLT, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal patient outcomes by performing and reporting laboratory results with precision and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
* Receives, identifies, organizes, and prioritizes specimens for timely test processing.
* Performs and reports requested laboratory procedures with attention to detail and quality control measures.
* Conducts quality control, proficiency testing, and routine instrument maintenance to ensure accurate results.
* Evaluates patient identification to minimize analytical and post-analytical errors and adverse outcomes.
* Participates in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
* State licensure and/or national registration or certification in compliance with current federal and state regulations.
Experience:
* Preferably, hospital experience; however, no prior experience is necessary if you have completed an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
Certification:
* Preferred: American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification.
Special Skills:
* Basic computer literacy.
