What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technologist-Ultrasound Certified position at Baptist Memorial?
Summary:
Performs imaging procedures and treatments according to radiology practice standards to aid in diagnosis and/or treatment of disease. Performs other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
• Demonstrates thorough understanding of ultrasound principles and utilizes most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures and treatments, as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results.
• Develops appropriate procedure/treatment plan.
• Implements procedure/treatment plan utilizing established hospital protocols and guidelines.
• Completes documentation as required to comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment, procedure/treatment rooms, and work areas in a neat and safe condition to ensure safety of patients and staff.
• Participates in hospital and departmental Performance Improvement activities to ensure patient care is consistent with established standards.
• Completes assigned goals.
Requirements, Preferences and Experience:
Education:
Registered by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or new graduate who is waiting to take the registry. Proof of registry (by primary source) must be available within 120 calendar days of graduation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 14 days of hire date.
Experience:
Preferred: Recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
Licensure, Registration, Certification:
Preferred: ARDMS
Minimum: NEW GRADUATE WHO WILL OBTAIN REQUIRED REGISTRY WITHIN 120 DAYS OF HIRE; BLS CERTIFICATION WITHIN 14 DAYS OF HIRE; RVT; ARDMS
Special Skills:
Minimum: Basic computer literacy skills.
