What You'll Do :
- Plans routes and coordinates and maintains open communication with transportation coordinator.
- Adheres to time schedules. Picks up or drops off residents at designated locations in a timely manner.
- Assists residents in and out of vehicles and with door to door drop off or pick up as necessary. Utilizes resident lift on bus as necessary.
- Assists with the loading and unloading of packages as necessary. Secures wheelchairs or packages as necessary.
- Exhibits excellence customer service; is courteous and professional with residents. Keeps passengers informed of possible delays.
- Obeys traffic laws and local, state and federal transit regulations. Follows procedures to ensure passenger safety.
- Refuels vehicle as needed. Keeps vehicle clean, e.g., vacuums / cleans inside regularly and schedules / maintains car washes.
- Performs daily visual inspection of vehicle and reports needed maintenance items on a timely basis. Properly completes incident or accident reports when necessary. Maintains logs or other records as requested.
- Participates in the QAPI Program as needed. Makes recommendations as needed if areas of improvement in transportation are needed
