Qualifications:
Completion of the tenth grade. Ability to speak read and write well. Ability to follow written and oral directions. Competent to safely operate various machinery and equipment. Familiar with the safe and proper use of hand tools. Electrical, plumbing and AC experience is required.
Essential Functions:
1. Ability to make minor repairs as needed.
2. Ability to do painting and simple carpentry repairs.
3. Ability to sweep and/or shovel walks in wintery weather conditions for employee and resident safety.
4. Ability to care for tools and keep maintenance closets clean and orderly.
5. Ability to communicate to Supervisor about needed repairs.
6. Ability to perform tasks with due consideration for facility residents, visitors and staff in area.
7. Ability to keep work area clean and orderly.
8. Ability to perform routine repetitive tasks despite frequent interruptions.
9. Ability to work and cooperate well with other employees.
10. Ability to work under close supervision.
11. Ability to safely operate various machinery and equipment.
12. Ability to safely use required hand tools.
13. Ability to perform other related duties as directed by Supervisor.
14. Ability to lift 50 pounds.
