Job Overview:
BAR Constructors, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Safety Specialist to join our team at our Anderson County, Texas Pipeline location. This is a 27-month job assignment where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall safety culture of our organization.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. You will conduct regular safety inspections and audits, investigate accidents and incidents, and prepare detailed reports on safety performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and develop strategies for prevention.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, including incident rates, trends, and recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
- Provide training and education on safety topics, including hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience required.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Proven experience in safety management or a similar role.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report writing and presenting findings.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
