Mortgage Loan Assistant

Bar Harbor Savings and Loan, a small community bank located in beautiful Bar Harbor, Maine is searching for an individual to be a Mortgage Loan Assistant, Flexible Daytime Hours available. Joining the Bank's team of highly dedicated and motivated professionals, the Mortgage Loan Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service including efficient and accurate transaction processing. The ideal candidate will have experience in the essential functions of the position, which include, assisting in the processing of loan originations and loan closings and to perform other lending related duties within the Bank such as :
- Loan Department quality control for FHLB loans
- Set up and process new loans
- Order Title work including Merchant Title
- Contact attorneys, appraisers & brokers for status updates
- Prepares loan denial letters and updates denial list
- Manage loan payoffs, including preparing discharges and sends documents to Registry of Deeds and related documents to borrower
- Prepare loan closing documents
- Disburse loans after closing
- Prepare mortgage loan application packets
Previous experience preferred but not required. High School Diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
