BAR K JOB DESCRIPTION — PARK MANAGER

It is a complex concept that requires expert execution across multiple business segments including food and beverage, marketing, dog recreation, retail and others.
SUMMARY
The Park Manager is a key member of the management team at each location and is responsible for managing all aspects of the dog park experience at Bar K. Providing an exceptional dog park experience is an absolutely vital element of Bar K’s success, and the Park Manager will be instrumental in that process. The Park Manager will report directly to the General Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, to the following:
- Execute the company’s rules and guidelines for managing the park experience to ensure an overwhelmingly positive experience for all human and dog visitors. Ensure that staff are executing Hospitality Guidelines and Steps of Service.
- Hire, train, manage and schedule park and park-back team; supervise, develop and motivate staff; take disciplinary and other action and when necessary. Manage scheduling to ensure highest levels of service while at the same time achieving target labor budget.
- Collaborate with Hospitality Manager and Front Desk Supervisor to ensure that Front Desk staff are trained in basics of dog behavior and management.
- Develop and implement zone/rotation schedule for rotating Dogtenders through park over the course of a shift. Ensure that any tips for Park staff are properly distributed and reported.
- Ensure that Dog Park is always kept clean and safe, water bowls are continually filled, all play equipment and seating is kept clean and safe, weather-related or other hazards are addressed, etc. Ensure proper sanitizing and disinfecting procedures are followed per company guidelines.
- Work with landscapers, suppliers, vendors, maintenance staff, etc. to ensure that Park is continually maintained to the highest standards while operating within established budgets.
- Ensure that all park supplies are continuously stocked and maintained; manage spending within targeted expense budgets.
- Ensure that timeout/first aid stations are properly maintained and utilized; supervise Park staff in first aid processes and procedures for both human and dog guests.
- Work with General Manager, Programming and Event Coordinator and the rest of the leadership team on park-related initiatives including private and public events, adoption events, marketing activities and other business initiatives.
- Implement the company’s Incident Reporting protocols to ensure that all incidents in the park are properly recorded, tracked, followed-up on, etc. Report to management on incidents per company guidelines.
- Play a key customer-facing role in promoting Bar K’s dog park experience — routinely engaging with human and dog guests to address and respond to concerns and inquiries and above all else, ensuring we are providing the highest level of service not only at our facility but also when representing Bar K at external events, presenting to community groups, etc.
- Opening and/or closing the facility in accordance with scheduling and business needs.

EXPECTED JOB SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS
- Significant experience with dog handling/behavior, such as management-level experience at a shelter, boarding/daycare facility, veterinary clinic etc.
- Prior management experience, specifically including supervision of large number of hourly employees
- Extraordinary communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well in groups and thrive in an unstructured environment
- Availability to work evenings/weekends/holidays as required
- Must Love Dogs!

- Must speak fluent English.
- Frequent standing and moving quickly within and outside the facility for extended periods
- Working in a wide range of weather conditions
- Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Overnight travel may be required
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
This will be a full-time, exempt position. The Park Manager may also be eligible for a discretionary performance-based bonus if certain financial and performance-based objectives are met.
