We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee our heavy-duty parts department and provide accurate parts estimations. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of heavy-duty parts department to ensure smooth workflows and maximize efficiency.
- Lead, train, and mange a team of parts specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels by forecasting demand and coordinating with suppliers.
- Establish and enforce department policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
- Negotiate pricing and manage vendor relationships to optimize cost savings and profitability.
- Ensure parts are organized, labeled, and accessible to streamline operations.
- Conduct regular audits of inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Parts Estimation
- Provide detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy-duty equipment parts to support service technicians and customers.
- Interpret blueprints, technical manuals, and service requests to identify the correct parts and quantities needed.
- Work closely with customers and service teams to clarify specifications and timelines.
- Utilize parts catalogs, inventory management systems, and estimating software for quick and efficient estimates.
- Track estimates from creation to completion, ensuring timely delivery and follow-up.
Customer Service
- Deliver excellent customer service by addressing inquires, resolving issues, and providing expert guidance on parts and estimates.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to promote repeat business and customer loyalty.
Financial Performance
- Monitor department profitability by managing budgets, reducing costs, and achieving sales targets.
- Analyze department performance metrics, including sales data, inventory turnover, and customer feedback, to identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a heavy-duty parts or related industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial or estimating role.
- Strong knowledge of heavy-duty equipment parts, suppliers, and inventory management systems.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Proficient in estimating software, inventory management tools, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Preferred Skills
- Certification in Parts Management or related field.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations regarding heavy-duty equipment and parts.
