Position Overview:

Baraka Gems is seeking a skilled and motivated Jewelry Showroom Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position requires a blend of assisting our design and marketing team with various tasks, organization, and receptionist/administrative duties including scheduling appointments, responding to emails and phone calls, and greeting customers. The ideal candidate will have experience in the jewelry industry, have administrative/front desk experience with a high attention to detail, provide great customer service, and have knowledge of computer programs and social media. Time-management, organization, working effectively with a team, adaptability, and multi-tasking skills are key in this multi-faceted role.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administrative tasks and operations at Baraka Gems such as answering the door, greeting customers, replying to phone calls and emails, scheduling appointments for the team, and other tasks as needed in the showroom.
• Assisting with opening and closing procedures and following accurate safety procedures.
• Regularly use computer programs such as TeamUp, Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Shopify, and Lightspeed POS system. 
• Ordering, receiving and returning products to vendors. 
• Assisting the Design Team with organization and appointment schedule management.
• Assisting the Digital Media Manager with social media posts, product descriptions, newsletters, and blog posts. 
• Working face-to-face with customers picking up their jewelry, and ringing them up in the POS system.
• Maintaining studio cleanliness and assistance with decorating.
• Filing, organizing invoices and documents, and other paperwork duties as needed.

Necessary Character Traits:

Experience Required:

• Client-facing customer service (Minimum 1 year)
• Reception/Administrative duties such as greeting customers, scheduling appointments, answering phones and replying to emails (Minimum 1 year)
• Social media knowledge and content creation abilities
• Skilled in computer software. Some systems we use include Shopify, Teamup, Airtable, Canva, Google Docs/Microsoft Word, Google Sheets/Excel, Lightspeed POS/CRM for retail, USPS/UPS/FedEx Shipping systems

Experience Desired:

• Working knowledge of the retail jewelry industry 
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

Position Details:

• Start Date: Position available immediately.
• Hours: 40hrs/week (Tuesday-Saturday 10:00am-6:30pm with a half hour lunch). Must be willing to maintain flexibility to work holidays and special events.
• Wage: $21-$24/hr
