Job Description:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the area of vocational and agricultural sciences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Start Date: July, 2025
Salary Structure: (Based on 2024-2025 Compensation Plan and includes all stipends)
0 Years = $73,000
15 Years = $88,723
Add $1,200 for Master's Stipend
Add $5,000 for National Board Teacher Certification
Qualifications:
*Bachelor's degree from accredited university
*Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Vocational Agriculture
Special Knowledge/Skills:
*Ability to supervise agricultural field experiences including assisting students in selecting and managing projects and supervising a school farm.
*Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
*At least one semester of student teaching or approved internship
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
*Teach meats processing and food technology
*Teach agriculture science courses
*Oversee Agriculture Experience Tracker record keeping system with all students
*Serve as advisor to local Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter, including planning and conducting leadership, citizenship, cooperative, career development, and competitive activities for students at local, regional, and state level.
*Assist with planning and delivery of the Young Farmers organization.
*Must have or agree to obtain CDL within one year of employment.
