What are the responsibilities and job description for the Customer Service Specialist-Cabinet position at Barbosa Cabinets Inc.?
This position will be based in the Sacramento area.
JOB SUMMARY: Engages in handling service calls from supervisors/customers/field representatives regarding issues pertaining to repair work on installed cabinets by performing the following duties:
- Communicates daily with job site supervisors and internal personnel to coordinate and schedule on-site repairs.
- Talks with customer by phone to coordinate repairs associated with already installed cabinets.
- Coordinates, according to job order priorities after installation of cabinets.
- Learns to expedite those urgent repairs for final walk through.
- Answers questions about repair dates.
- Fills out forms for customer service repair persons.
- As needed, visits on site to investigate conditions preventing completion of service. Keys information into computer to compile work volume and record keeping of customer service requests and complaints.
- Advises and prepares daily schedule for Customer Service Field Representatives advising on delay in schedule or alters schedule to meet unforeseen conditions.
- Calls job sites to confirm repair dates.
- Prepares daily sequence for Customer Service Field Representatives.
- Updates site supervisor of change in schedule.
- Calls and confirms dates with builder.
- Heavy phone duties working with building contractors, site supervisors, foremen, and Customer Service Field Representatives.
- Performs daily filing as required.
- Performs other duties assigned.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION:
- Knowledge of construction industry desired.
- Ability to communicate with a variety of customers in order to answer questions, deal with irate customers, and provide quick responses to questions.
- Ability to utilize organizational skills to work under pressure and prioritize work.
- Ability to extract information from established job-tracking system. Ability to perform multiple tasks and prioritize work.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS:
The supervisor defines the objectives and priorities, informs the incumbent of special priorities and deadlines, and the degree of quality and accuracy that is expected. The incumbent independently carries out regular and recurring assignments without assistance. However, the supervisor is available for advice on any deviations, problems, or unusual instructions. Completed work, reports, and procedures are reviewed for technical accuracy and compliance with instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in a normal office setting. The work site is well lighted, well ventilated, and easily accessible. Employee is required to wear safety clothing and equipment appropriate for job assignment and work areas where assigned, as directed by the supervisor.
