What are the responsibilities and job description for the Installer-Stone position at Barbosa Cabinets Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY: Install countertops by performing the following duties:
- Examines blueprints, measures, and makes templates for preparation and installation of stone countertops.
- Familiar with contact cements/solvents and other tools of the trade.
- Cuts and shapes stone tiles with tile cutters, biters.
- Fills cracks, seams, depressions and does touch-up work, as needed.
- Checks truck is ready with appropriate tools and equipment.
- Visually inspects completed work for seam lines, defects in installation, etc.
- Responsible for timely completion of assigned projects and ensures customer satisfaction.
- Ensures quality standards are maintained for assigned projects.
- Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and supervisor.
- Performs other duties assigned.
- Observes and practices all safety rules and regulations.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED OF THE POSITION:
- Knowledge of the Construction industry.
- Knowledge of various countertop products.
- Ability to observe and make work adjustments to complete projects.
- Ability to schedule and control work projects and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and to make constructive decisions.
- Ability to work in a safe manner.
MANAGER CONTROLS:
The Supervisor defines the objectives and priorities, informs the incumbent of special priorities and deadlines, and the degree of quality and accuracy that is expected. The incumbent independently carries out regular and recurring assignments without assistance. However, the Supervisor is available for advice on any deviations, problems, or unusual instructions. The incumbent works independently and seeks advice from the Supervisor on an as needed basis.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS:
Work is performed in combination of outside and warehouse setting. The work site is well lighted, well ventilated, and easily accessible. In the shop and field area individuals are subject to: extreme heat and cold, frequently exposed to sawdust, loud noises from power saws, hammers, etc., and subject to possible cuts from flying wooden particles, nails, fasteners, etc. Incumbent will stand, bend, stoop and at times be in awkward positions. Heavy lifting up to 80 lbs and two-man team over 80 lbs. Incumbent required wearing face safety shield, protective eyeglasses and ear devices.
