Job Purpose:
The Orthopedic Surgeon is responsible for treating various muscle and skeletal problems, including arthritis, congenital deformities, and trauma injuries.
They provide medical care by performing physical exams, designing treatment and therapeutic plans, and tracking patient progress to determine the best course of action.
Key responsibilities include performing surgeries such as sports surgeries, joint replacement surgery, and fracture repairs in bones.
Duties:
- Examine, diagnose, and treat patients with musculoskeletal disorders, malformations, diseases, and injuries.
- Prescribe treatment plans for patients with injuries, disorders, or malformations and perform required surgeries.
- Conduct and supervise direct patient care, including pre- and post-operative procedures.
- Plan and execute disease prevention and health promotion programs.
- Exercise command of medical units, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
- Conduct medical research on new injuries or diseases, participate in medical education, and train other medical personnel.
- Participate in on-call schedules and maintain a timely response.
- Maintain continuing medical education (CME) requirements and document patient records accurately.
- Enhance department reputation by accepting new challenges and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements:
- MD or DO degree with successful completion of a 5-year orthopedic surgical residency.
- Board-certified orthopedic surgeon with state licensure.
- At least 3 years' experience as an orthopedic surgeon with proven success in relevant surgical procedures and non-surgical treatments.
