Job purpose
The Quality Assurance and Food Safety Sr. Manager for Barcel USA ensures that the business complies with all relevant food safety standards and regulatory codes. This position is responsible for facilitation, development, and implementation of systems to ensure quality and food safety in the entire supply chain (Costumer, Design, Suppliers, Comakers, Copackers, Production, Sales). The associate will lead with behaviors that promote cultural change through outstanding associate relationships.
Duties and responsibilities

Promote a Quality Culture across the USA Barcel Organization

Develop high qualified associates in leadership, quality, and food safety matters

Ensure associates have resources and training of Food Safety required by local state and federal agencies.

Implement and maintain the Global Quality and Food Safety Standard in USA Barcel Operations to include but not limited to HACCP, HARPC, GMPs, Sanitation, Pest Control, Microbiology, Quality Control, Quality in Design, Laboratory, Customer Complains, etc.

Achieve Quality scorecard metrics and operational targets, corrective actions and lead a continuous improvement process

Maintain and supervise Quality and Food Safety program in the supply chain through internal and external audits, verification, and validation

Maintain the external quality certification defined by the Organization such as SQF and required by clients

Prepare, administer, and control the Quality CAPEX
-
Interface with Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing Engineering, R&D, Production, and Suppliers on quality related issues affecting products or service

Ensures that current and newly developing manufacturing and products are implemented consistent with Quality standard

Oversee FSVP Program to comply with FSMA
Qualifications
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Food Science/ Engineering/ Management. A combination of education, training and experience that results in demonstrated competency to perform the work may be substituted.

7 years in food industry minimum with demonstrated experience in Food Safety/ Quality Assurance

5 years of experience leading direct reports

Strong Interpersonal and Communication skills

Knowledge of GFSI certifications (SQF, BRC, etc), Laboratory, Microbiology and Process Control

Proved experience implementing Quality and Food Safety culture and programs in food industry

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred

SQF Practitioner, Internal Auditor Certified, PCQI desired
-
Knowledge of HACCP and auditing experience desired.

Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office Program (Word, Excel, Power Point).
