What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Back position at Barcelona Wine Bar?
Bar Back
The main responsibility of a Bar back is to aid the bartender with all bar maintenance tasks, including clean up and restocking of glassware and supplies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all proper sanitation practices are enforced when taking care of the bar
- Dispose of trash and bottles according to restaurant procedure
- Bring filled bus bins from behind the bar to the dishwashing area
- Prepare all fruit/garnish for all cocktails on menu
- Restock all inventory: beer, liquor, wine, juices, glassware, etc.
- Deliver cocktails to guest in a timely fashion (if needed)
Skills
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Avid multitasker to adapt to a fast paced, high volume restaurant setting
Working Conditions
- Be able to stand, twist, kneel and move around for the entirety of a scheduled shift
- Be able to lift up to 30lbs
- Be comfortable frequently using hands and wrists
Education/Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent (preferred)
- Prior restaurant experience is a plus but not required
