As a Barclays Capital Optimization Vice President, you’ll support RMG (Resource Management Group)– Business Optimisation with management of Financial Resources for the Prime Financing business across products, regions and entities. You’ll focus on tactical BAU optimization and strategic optimization of financial resources for Barclays entities globally, help the firm navigate rapid regulatory changes, and provide Trading and Sales teams with guidance on optimizing financial resource consumption.

What will you be doing?
• Working with Prime Financing to optimize financial resource consumption (LBS, RWA), drive efficiencies and manage within respective targets and limits
• Using strategic thinking and analytical skills to turn data into actionable information
• Preparing for regulatory changes (e.g., FRTB), which will influence product development and help determine risk, capital and profitability assessments
• Maintaining and developing specialized analytical dashboards and reporting tools to track capital and leverage use, and manage risks associated with regulatory change
• Supporting the implementation of Business strategies by driving planning and optimisation of capital
• Working on critical ad-hoc requests that impact the firm and business
What we’re looking for:
• Three or more years of experience in a financial services firm or institution
• Hardworking with an eye for detail and an ability to craft effective messages (interpersonally and/ or in presentation materials)
• Solid experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Effective team player with ability to work independently, excellent communication skills and is comfortable interacting with senior management
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Solid quantitative and analytical background, with excellent problem solving skills
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and BCBS Regulations; as well as a general understanding of current and upcoming banking regulations
• Prior experience with business intelligence tools like Qlikview / Qlilksense
Where will you be working?
You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
