We are looking to hire a dedicated Manufacturing Production Manager to join our team. The Manufacturing Production Manager will support our GSE department.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee and insure that Barfield Ground Support Test Equipment is manufactured, delivered and repaired effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost effective manner. Prepare and implement work schedules and oversee the production, quality and cost control for both the Manufacturing and repair of test equipment. Help direct employees performing routine operations requiring little training and also supervise complex, non-routine operations and more complex assembly operations. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Have the skills and/or responsibilities to manage inventory, distribution of materials, supplies, parts, components, and tools. Comply and enforce all company policy, rules, regulations, and procedures and reports to the Vice President Ground Support Test Equipment.
Essential Functions
- Strong leader capable of managing a diverse group of product manufacturing and repair personnel.
- Professional decision making, sound business judgment and project management experience.
- Understanding of manufacturing ERP/MRP systems, Quantum. A plus
- Strong experience of supply chain management (including expediting, lead-time reduction, inventory management, packaging & shipping).
- Demonstrate Lean Manufacturing experience in a low volume environment.
- Experience of improving AS9100 quality systems within a small manufacturing environment.
- Report writing & presentation skills.
- PC literate with Word, Excel & PowerPoint skills.
- Understand, write, and read English, Spanish is a plus
Required Skills/Competencies/Qualifications:
- HS diploma or Technical School or equivalent (Bachelor Degree 3 years’ experience or High school diploma and 10 years’ experience in Trade/Manufacturing).
- 3 years in middle management position preferred
- 3 years in Manufacturing and Assembly of technological electro-mechanical products
- May be required to meet certain certifications in field
- Good administrative skills
- Strong understanding of schematics and drawings
- Complete understanding of Lean principles regarding both Manufacturing and Repair organizations
- Experience working/communicating with Engineering organizations regarding product development, support or improvement.
