Reports to: Director of Quality
The Shipping & Receiving Manager oversees all aspects of the company's shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery by coordinating incoming goods, managing packaging, negotiating transportation costs with suppliers, and supervising the shipping department staff to maintain efficient operations and meet delivery deadlines; they are responsible for the entire shipping process from receiving inbound parts to be repaired and parts to make the repair, to delivery of parts back to the customer or to vendors for outside repair.

Key Responsibilities Of a Shipping Manager
- Review and manage incoming deliveries, ensuring accurate and timely processing into quantum and or delivery to the parts room. Ensure all products received are accurately processed and received into the system upon its arrival; Ensure all products that have been released is packaged and shipped on the day it is released.
- Monitor inventory levels of shipping materials (boxes, labeling, bubble wrap, tape, etc.) to maintain sufficient stock for timely fulfillment of shipment requirements.
- Oversee the proper packaging and labeling of products for shipment, including compliance with domestic, international and HazMat shipping regulations.
- Select and negotiate shipping carriers based on cost, delivery time, destination, customer requirements or instructions. Including compliance with domestic, international and HazMat shipping regulations.
- Monitor shipment progress from dispatch to delivery, addressing any delays or issues. Including packages delayed in customs.
- Manage and train shipping department employees on proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Analyze shipping costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Ensure all shipments are inspected before leaving the warehouse to maintain quality standards.
- Adhere to all relevant shipping regulations and documentation requirements. Including compliance with domestic, international and HazMat shipping regulations.
Required skills for a shipping manager:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or Six years of experience in managing a complex shipping and receiving environment.
- Thorough understanding of shipping processes, including packaging, labeling, and carrier options.
- Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team of shipping personnel.
- Capacity to quickly identify and resolve shipping issues that may arise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with internal teams, carriers, and customers.
- Ability to maintain accuracy in all aspects of shipping operations.
- Familiar with Quantum a plus and UPS/FEDX shipping software.
- The shipping Manager must be familiar with the Repair Station Manual and Quality Manual (RSQCM) and his duties and responsibilities as assigned and any additional duties that may be assigned or delegated.
