Cashier/Stocker/Customer Service

We are a fast-paced Thrift Store that is looking for a long-term, enthusiastic and team-oriented cashier/merchandise stocker. Pay starts at $14.00/hour with scheduled raises. Paid bi-weekly. Roughly ~25 hrs /week. Immediate opening!

Must be 18 or older to apply. Our current available shift is 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Mondays, 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:30 PM to 9:00 PM on Fridays, and 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Customer Focus: Maintain a strong customer service focus by providing exceptional service during transactions and ensuring a positive customer experience at the front end.
• Cash Handling: Operate cash register and process transactions accurately.
• Merchandise Stocking: Working with a team, stock upwards of 3500 clothing & home décor items each day
• Cleanliness: Ensures store remains neat, clean, and organized. Removes potential safety hazards by promptly picking up fallen items, addressing spills, and cleaning up breakage.
• Operational Efficiency: Continuously seek opportunities to improve the efficiency of front-end activities, contributing to the overall success of Bargain Thrift.

Qualifications

• Strong customer service skills with experience in retail sales
• Proficiency in operating POS systems and cash registers
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers
• Basic math skills for handling transactions and calculating totals
• Time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient workflow
• Enjoy working hard in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

• This position requires ability to lift at least 50 pounds on a regular basis and will experience frequent bending, squatting, lifting and repetitive motion.
• Ability to work in a very active environment includes lifting, walking, and standing on concrete floors.
