Job Description:
As a Payroll Associate Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and processing payroll for our employees, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies. Your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Accurately process payroll for all employees, including hourly and salaried staff.
- Union Dues Submissions: Manage submissions for Union Dues to external websites and ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Payroll Taxes: Handle payroll taxes such as SUTA (State Unemployment Tax Act) and FUTA (Federal Unemployment Tax Act), ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Employee Enrollment: Oversee the enrollment of new employees into the payroll system, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed.
- Verification Reporting: Conduct verification reporting for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Unemployment Reporting: Prepare and submit unemployment reports for various states as required.
- Garnishments & Deductions: Process and manage employee garnishments, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all payroll activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Reporting: Generate and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.
- Audits: Assist with internal and external payroll audits as needed.
- Other duties – as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent payroll specific experience.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in payroll accounting, preferably in the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience with union payroll processing is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
