Department: Portfolio Finance and Analytics
Location: Charlotte , NC / Boston, MA / New York, NY
The Position
Barings is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to work across the majority of Barings origination and investment teams to help structure investments that optimize execution for our insurance and non-insurance clients. Utilizing her/his extensive experience working with ratings agencies and her/his knowledge of insurance regulatory capital rules, the candidate will work in a hands-on manner with origination and investment teams to analyze and understand the different structural options for collateral pools, and then work with investment, legal and sales teams to execute the chosen plan commercially. The position will report directly to the head of Portfolio Solutions and Analytics and be a member of that group’s leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities
- Build relationships with originators and investment teams to understand collateral options and sourcing opportunities
- Analyze structural options for collateral pools
- Iterating with rating agencies, regulators and sales team to assess commercial viability of structural options
- Execute deals working with internal and external legal counsel, rating agencies, regulators and clients
- Extensive experience working at or with rating agencies
- Strong knowledge or insurance capital regulations
- Experience structuring public and/or private asset securitizations of collateral
- Solid communication skills that can drive discussion and decision internally and externally
- Leadership skills that enable the candidate to bring various constituencies to consensus
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
