The Strategic Investments team is seeking an investment professional who will be responsible for evaluating and managing strategic investment opportunities including financial services and specialty asset finance private equity and structured / preferred equity opportunities as well as analyze and execute on internal strategic initiative.
Primary Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct equity and structured credit underwriting and execution with a focus on financial services and specialty finance including company due diligence, financial statement analysis, detailed financial modeling / valuation, and transaction document negotiation
- Conduct ongoing portfolio company monitoring and work closely with management teams to identify value creation opportunities and support execution
- Communicate with investors and strategic partners and create / monitor client reporting
- Perform due diligence and present new strategic investment ideas or areas for internal improvement
- Support execution of internal strategic initiatives coordinating across internal and external stakeholders
- Create memos and presentations for internal leadership discussions
- Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives
- Three to five years of experience working in finance with a strong preference for a background in investment banking, private equity, or special situations investing, ideally in financial services or specialty finance
- Ability to synthesize complex situations and identify creative solutions
- Strong negotiating skills and ability to work through transaction related documents
- Commitment to task and attention to detail
- Good personal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong computer skills, specifically in Microsoft Office, etc.
