Position Overview
We're seeking a skilled, compassionate Pet Groomer who shares our dedication to holistic pet care and stress-free grooming experiences. You'll work alongside our Nationally Certified Master Groomer to provide exceptional grooming services while embracing our Zen Pet philosophy. This role is perfect for a groomer who views their craft as more than just aesthetics, but as an essential component of a pet's overall wellness and happiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and more
- Assess each pet's coat, skin, and overall health as part of our three-point evaluation system
- Create individualized grooming protocols based on breed standards, pet temperament, and PAWrent preferences
- Employ gentle, stress-reducing techniques while handling pets
- Maintain awareness of the sensory environment (lighting, sound, aromatherapy) during grooming sessions
- Communicate effectively with PAWrents about their pet's grooming needs and home care recommendations
- Keep detailed records of each pet's grooming history and special requirements
- Sanitize and maintain grooming equipment and workstations
- Stay current with grooming trends, techniques, and breed-specific standards
- Participate in creating a calm, welcoming environment for both pets and PAWrents
Qualifications
- Professional grooming experience with a variety of breeds and coat types
- Demonstrated skill in both breed standard cuts and creative styling
- Knowledge of pet anatomy, skin conditions, and general health indicators
- Natural ability to calm and reassure nervous or anxious pets
- Excellent scissoring, clipper, and finishing techniques
- Strong communication skills with both pets and their PAWrents
- Patience and genuine compassion for animals
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle pets of various sizes
- Commitment to continuous learning and skill development
- Professional grooming certification preferred but not required for experienced groomers
