About This Role

As a Senior Grooming Operations Manager (Senior GOM) at Barkbus, you will be responsible for building, growing, inspiring, and empowering a fantastic team of Barkbus Pet Stylists within your designated territory. The Senior GOM will ensure that all Pet Stylists are prepared and equipped to deliver world-class grooming and customer service each and every day.
The ideal candidate understands how to empower and inspire while creating a healthy and positive environment for Pet Stylists to work in. You lead from the front by creating and implementing strategies and processes to achieve success for your territory. You mix your business acumen with your passion for operational excellence to simplify processes and enhance the performance of the territory. You are a dog-lover at heart, are both strategic and hands-on, and are excited by the challenge of building a start-up.
Role & Responsibilities
Oversee operations across Northern California to drive regional revenue growth and profitability.
Accountable for team performance of 30 Pet Stylists, including but not limited to team training, engagement, attendance, productivity, rebooking, and customer experience.
Leverage data and operational metrics to assess performance, identify trends, and implement improvements that drive key business outcomes.
Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day service and scheduling escalations to ensure the customer experience is always world-class.
Drive safety, efficiency, and effectiveness in all aspects of grooming operations including mobile services and hub inventory.
Tackle key business priorities, scale best practices, and implement operational improvements in partnership with cross-functional peers.
Demonstrate strong project management skills – planning and executing projects of varying urgency and scope with minimal guidance.
Embody the Barkbus core values and ensure Pet Stylist accountability towards them.
Other engaging ad-hoc duties and projects may be assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
Must be both a people and dog lover!
Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams with at least 2 years leading teams of 10 employees.
Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets, with demonstrated experience using data to track KPIs, optimize operations, and inform strategic decision-making.
2 years of relevant experience in strategy and / or operations role (or related).
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Proven success managing highly ambiguous problems and owning solutions from inception to execution.
Strong Project Management skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners to solve problems at scale.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong Excel / GoogleSheets and data analytics capabilities, including using data to make decisions.
Pet or mobile service-related experience is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive Base Salary : $115K-$130K, based on experience.
Annual bonus target of 10% base salary.
