Position Title: Warehouse Picker
Location: Cheshire, CT
Reports to: Warehouse Manager
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: 8am-5pm (1 hr. lunch)

Job Summary:

The Warehouse Picker is responsible for accurately picking products from inventory to fulfill customer orders. This includes retrieving items from shelving locations, ensuring proper labeling and documentation, and preparing goods for shipping. The role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Picking Orders: Accurately pick and pack products from shelves based on customer orders, using pick lists.
• Inventory Management: Ensure the correct quantity and item are selected by verifying items using manual checks. Report discrepancies to manager.
• Product Handling: Safely handle and move products, ensuring they are not damaged during picking. Use equipment such as pallet jacks, team lift, step ladders, or carts when necessary.
• Quality Control: Inspect products for damage or defects before packing. Report any issues to the appropriate department or manager.
• Packaging: Pack items securely, ensuring they are protected for shipment. Label packages clearly with correct shipping details.
• Organization: Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure efficiency and safety. Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Inventory Replenishment: Assist with inventory restocking, ensuring products are placed in designated storage locations.
• Shipping Preparation: Help prepare picked orders for shipment by stacking, wrapping, or labeling, and ensuring they are ready for loading onto trucks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with warehouse associates, management, and other team members to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely delivery.
• Performance Goals: Meet or exceed productivity targets, such as order picking rates and accuracy.
• Other Duties: Support other warehouse functions as directed by management.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Prior experience in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred but not required.

• Skills:
• Basic math skills for counting and verifying order quantities.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods.
• Ability to use a pallet jack.
• Ability to be comfortable using step ladders.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to withstand repetitive movement.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: $17.00/hr.
