Responsible for the conceptual design, component specification, system hardware design, and programming. Will work closely with other engineers and technical staff. Responsibilities include providing engineering support for field service technicians and technical training at client facilities as needed. Supports existing products and works within existing methods and standards constraints. Up to 20% domestic travel may be required; international travel is a possibility.
- Requires the ability to apply the principles of electrical and electronic theory and related experience to design, program, and troubleshoot state-of-the-art packaging machinery.
- Knowledge to read and troubleshoot ladder logic within motion controls. Including programming of servo drives (AB).
- Must have design problem-solving skills and be able to work in a team environment.
- Customize program features based on customer specifications.
- Run initial commissioning of machines using the developed program
- Debugging any issues that may occur during initial testing.
- Collaborate with the team on research and development projects that could be implemented in future projects.
- Support customer service with programming replacement components on an as-needed basis.
- Create wiring schematic, program diagrams, and complete bill of materials.
- Strong communication skills.
- Works well within a team environment but can also be self-directed when required.
- Strong time management skills.
- Attention to detail and pride in work.
- Other duties as assigned.
