Barkingham Palace, the area’s most exciting pet care business, is looking for people interested in working with dogs, cats, and people, oh my. Our goal is to improve the quality of life of pets through service.

Experience is welcome but not necessary. Experience will be taken into account for starting pay. Barkingham Palace provides high-quality services including pet lodging, day care, grooming, and professional dog training services.

We provide training that will provide you with the skills to work with dogs and cats confidently and have fun in this position!

The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work any schedule including weekends, holidays and evenings. Be timely in all things, be willing to perform a variety of tasks, and be detail oriented. A great candidate will have all the above plus excellent communication skills and be able to provide the customer with exceptional service.

Because this is a mentally and physically challenging profession, our pet care staff must be comfortable standing for long periods of time, cleaning up after pets and cleaning in general, concentrating on tasks while working in often loud or very load environments while exhibiting great patience with pets who may be stressed, anxious, aged, or difficult to work with. Pet care staff must also be capable of lifting or working with large or giant breed dogs (lifting to 50 pounds by yourself and greater weight with coworker assistance).

Duties may include but are not limited to:

· Working with dogs in enrichment activities, pack or dog walks, and fun dog sports

· Being a leader and role model to dogs and dog groups

· Handling, walking, and moving dogs throughout the resort (working with cats, handling and moving cats at check in and check out)

· Teaching and re-enforcing basic obedience to dogs

· Maintaining a clean environment throughout the facility, cleaning equipment, and maintaining supplies

Candidates who may excel in this position may have previous experience in pet boarding, pet day care, pet shelters, or as pet bathers, groomers. Former FFA or 4H members with cat, dog, or large animal focus, and ranch or farmhands with large animal experience would also be great!
