Delivery Driver

At Barksdale Dental Lab our route drivers are responsible for transporting dental restorations and appliances to and from our laboratory to our dental customers.

We are seeking a candidate with excellent interpersonal and time management skills to deliver products to dentists in and around the Birmingham area. We are specifically looking for someone located in this area. Our drivers often times must make a delivery by specific times; therefore, drivers need to be able to determine the best route for their day. This means you must be ready to adapt to change frequently.

Hours:

It is extremely important to have the ability to work varying hours, Monday through Friday. Some routes must begin at 6am while others at 7:30am. Depending on the day’s workload, some days may end at 3pm while others may go until 6pm. If you are unable or unwilling to be flexible, please do not apply for this position.

· Utilize GPS or similar apps to follow routes and schedules effectively.

· Communicate with others effectively and in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Communicate with dispatchers, our clients, and other team members effectively and efficiently.

· Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate a delivery vehicle.

· Ask for feedback on provided services and resolve clients’ complaints and concerns.

· Collect payments.

· Build relationships with clients (When time allows visit clients who you haven’t seen in a week or two. Offer them some Rx pads and see if they need anything from us.)

· Complete logs and reports including time and place of deliveries (When person is present to receive cases have them sign your log; if no one is present, specify location to which you dropped off the case/cases: slot, back door, etc.)

· Utilize company assigned phone while on the road (Phone must remain on ring, be connected to power when not in use, and returned clean at the end of each day.)

· Perform basic car care on the delivery vehicle (Vacuum and wash weekly - using a select drive through car wash.)

· Maintain removable and fixed pads.

· Use navigational tools.

· Deliver excellent service.

· Respond to customer inquiries.

· Complete other duties as assigned.

Experience/Education

· Read, write, and speak English.

· High School Diploma or Equivalent.

· Legally authorized to work in the United States.

· Must have a valid driver’s license.

· 1 years as a delivery driver.

· Able to use cell phones, apps, and other required technology.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to sit, move, and walk for extended periods.

· Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

· Subject to a physical evaluation.

· Must have at least 20/40 vision or corrected vision.

· Must meet State of Alabama depth perception statues.

· Route Driver Manager
