Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and exercising dogs and other pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas by performing regular cleaning tasks.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to the supervisor or veterinary staff.
- Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed.
- Handle dogs safely during walks and playtime, ensuring their safety and the safety of others.
- Support pet grooming tasks as required, including bathing and brushing.
- Assist with record keeping related to animal care and health status.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their animals' needs and behaviors.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Strong skills in dog handling and animal restraint are essential.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary (up to 50 pounds).
- Knowledge of basic pet grooming techniques is a plus.
- A background in veterinary technology or dog training is advantageous but not mandatory.
