Job Title : Human Resources Coordinator
The Opportunity :
Barminco Mining Services Canada Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our team at a project location 65 miles outside of Elko, Nevada. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance to Managers and Employees in support of Human Resources related matters including but not limited to : Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance Management, and other employee lifecycle needs.
Location : 65 Miles outside of Elko, Nevada
Shift : 7-days on / 7-days off rotation
Accommodation : Charter transportation from muster point. Camp and meals provided.
Key Responsibilities :
- Ensuring that hiring requests are planned in the budget
- Providing assistance and guidance to supervisors and managers for the development of job / role profiles including clear definition of performance expectations, skills, and abilities.
- Creating and posting all job advertisements; Short screening applicants.
- Pre-screen resumes and set up interviews
- Developing and amending interview questions as required and participating in interviews.
- Conduct all pre-employment checks such as : References, Criminal background, Fitness for Duty, Motor Vehicle etc, and verify all credentials such as Licences, Trades certificates, etc
- Draft offer for approval and send offer to candidate
- Booking medical and pre-access drug / alcohol screen
- Gathering all new hire paperwork, completed in full and ensure accuracy
- Forward completed documentation to Payroll
- Activate the benefits for the new employees : insurance and pension plan
- Responsible for delivering new employee orientation
- Maintain all employee files : electronic and paper version
- Track probation periods
- Leave management, including :
- Advise on leave entitlements
- Medical leave : gather medical documentation and support for leave, including requesting assessments to determine if qualify as medical leave (SAP); prepare FAF in preparation for return to work
- Provide documentation, guidance, and support to managers for termination of employment (both voluntary and non-voluntary)
- Providing advice on the application of policy and local employment law in employee cases
- Guiding managers through the management of general employee relations issues including performance management and disciplinary actions
- Providing assistance to supervisors in the preparation of performance appraisals.
- HR Reporting statistics and monthly reporting with employee data updates
