Qualifications and Requirements
- Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of 24 months preoperative experience, both scrubbing and circulating.
- Satisfactory completion of the State-approved RNFA program.
- Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, basic life-saver (CPR-BLS).
- Accumulation of 150 contact hours of continuing education every 5 years.
- Successful completion of all Orientation Programs.
The Surgical Assistant - Perioperative Care Specialist must adhere to institutional policies and procedures, communicate effectively, and demonstrate leadership and professionalism in the perioperative setting.
