What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Service Aide position at Barnabas Health?
Job Overview:
Support Aides are responsible for cleaning and reporting any safety hazards to the manager in charge. They must complete tasks like vacuuming, emptying trashcans, dusting, high dusting, cleaning windows, cleaning, sweeping and mopping patient rooms, bathrooms, nurse's station, hallways, stairs, elevators, floor care projects and room setups as needed.
Qualifications:
Required
- Excellent customer service skills
Preferred
- One to two years as housekeeper or service worker preferred
- Command of English
Physical Functions:
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods
- Bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Exposure to chemicals on a constant basis requires special clothing or safety equipment.
Scheduling Requirements
- Shift Working 6:30am - 3:00pm
- Weekend and holiday requirements
- As Needed
- Per Diem
Essential Functions:
- To provide housekeeping/cleaning services that will support the highest possible level of cleanliness and sanitation for the department.
- Provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- Maintain an orderly and attractive environment throughout the facility in accordance with RWJ standards.
