What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Worker position at Barnabas Health?
Job Overview:
The Housekeeping Worker cleans and supplies Operating Rooms, sub-sterile areas, ancillary areas, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with hospital objectives.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
- Hospital housekeeping experience preferred
- Floor care experience preferred
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shifts vary from 3:00pm-11:30pm, 5:00pm-10:00pm, 6:00pm-11:00pm, and 7:00pm-11:30pm
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- Per Diem
Essential Functions:
- Clean and disinfect patient's rooms, bathrooms, and other areas of the facility in a timely fashion
- Cleaning duties will include trash removal and disposal, sweeping, mopping, and other duties assigned according to hospital policies and procedures
- Must understand standard precautions and removal of medical waste, hazardous waste, and pharmaceutical waste
- Ability to clean surgical equipment, surgical invasive areas, isolation areas and of off-site campus areas depending on shift
- Must be able to work independently
- Maintain adequate stock of supplies and chemicals
- Lift, pull, push up to 50 lbs.
- Prefer an understanding of following Joint Commission and DOH inspections
