What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Food Service position at Barnabas Health?
Job Overview:
The main functions of the Utility Food Service Worker are washing of dishes, removal of garbage and trash, and overall sanitation of the department.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
- Previous food service experience
Scheduling Requirements:
- Shift working, 3:30pm-7:30pm each day / 4:00p-8:00p each day
- Rotating Weekends and holidays
- Part Time
Essential Functions:
- Sweeps and mops kitchen and cafeteria
- Disposes of trash and cardboard,
- Has knowledge of MSDS sheets
- Fills out sanitization logSoaks, washes, rinses, sanitizes and stores all pots, pans and utensils used in food preparation for service.
- All items are free from food, soil and grease,
- Sanitized using the appropriate chemicals,
- Stored on racks properly to allow air circulation,
- Removes all garbage from the department as needed and instructed by the supervisor and places clean liners in garbage cans,
- Cleans and sanitizes his hands as needed,
- Garbage dumpsters are cleaned and sanitized daily,
- Demonstrates flexibility and initiative on the job, evidenced by the
- The following: utilize lulls in the workload to assist other department personnel in completing assignments,
- Keeps the work area in a clean, neat and organized fashion,
- Understands the duties of other comparable positions in the department so that coverage can be maintained during staffing shortages
- Performs other duties as assigned
