The Department of Biological Sciences at Barnard College seeks two full-time Term Lecturers to teach undergraduate courses in biology. These are two-year positions beginning on July 1, 2025, with teaching responsibilities during the standard academic year from September through May.Job Description:
The teaching load is three courses per semester. Teaching duties will include lecture and laboratory sections for one semester of Introductory Biology (either Introduction to Organismal and Evolutionary Biology or Introduction to Cell and Molecular Biology) as well as upper-level lecture and laboratory courses that complement our current offerings.
Exact instructional assignments and other academic responsibilities are determined by the Chair.

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a related discipline, with all requirements for the degree completed by the time of hiring offer.
- Prior experience or demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring diverse students

Research statement (one to two pages) describing how the applicant’s research experience will inform their teaching

$85,500
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
