- Designing effective business unit accounting procedures and standard work instructions including testing for operating effectiveness
- Implement improvements in accounting and financial reporting procedures to drive consistency and efficiency across the different businesses of Barnes Aerospace.
- Analyzes data for deficiencies in processes, controls, government regulations, and management policies or procedures.
- Support Finance Directors with business analysis. Providing data and support for financial results to support financial statement reviews and certifications.
- Lead financial statement review processes, including quarterly financial statement and controls reviews with business leaders.
- Provides financial and accounting guidance/support to the business and finance leaders to help drive business processes and results.
- Researches and interprets accounting pronouncements ensuring the organization complies with industry - related accounting practices.
- Maintains effective relationships with business leadership, communicates emerging best practices, provides accounting advice and training for managers throughout the organization.
- Responsible for Financial Statement consolidation and preparation, including required footnotes to satisfy debt compliance requirements.
- Responsible for the oversight of all Aerospace HQ accounting, financial reporting, controls, planning & forecasting.
- Coordination and oversight of annual audit processes (statutory, US GAAP), supporting site level finance teams and working effectively with external audit teams to drive efficient audit processes.
- Partnership with tax function regarding tax accounting and compliance requirements, and the treasury function regarding accounting requirements related foreign currency hedging activities, intercompany loan activities and other treasury related activities.
- Minimum of ten years of experience in accounting, including experience at a ‘Big 4’ or ‘Tier 2” public accounting firm. Additional experience of accounting and managerial experience in a mid to large-size manufacturing company (or division thereof) is preferred.
- Full spectrum of Finance experience, including accounting, compliance, and financial analysis
- Expertise in US GAAP and experience navigating through effective internal control frameworks is required.
- Persuasive leadership skills and strong technical accounting skills to coach, guide and motivate the accounting team as a valued resource to the organization. Strong competencies in leadership, continuous improvement, and business acumen.
- Data driven, analytical approach to problem solving, leading to systemic improvements, and lasting results. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and guide people as well as drive process improvement is required.
- Impeccable integrity; High Emotional Intelligence (EI); Superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required in Accounting. CPA, chartered accountant, or advanced degree preferred.
