What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sandblaster (5-4/9's Schedule) position at Barnes Aerospace?
Duties:
- Operate sandblasting equipment to remove debris from metal surfaces
- Prepare surfaces for painting or refinishing by sandblasting
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective gear while operating sandblasting equipment
- Clean and maintain sandblasting equipment to ensure proper functioning
- Work with a team to complete projects efficiently and effectively
Skills:
- Power tools: Proficiency in using power tools such as sandblasters, pneumatic tools, and grinders
- Blueprint reading: Ability to interpret and understand blueprints and schematics for accurate sandblasting
- Trim carpentry: Experience in working with trim carpentry, including sanding and refinishing surfaces
- Basic math: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations for measuring and estimating materials needed
- Schematics: Familiarity with reading and interpreting schematics for proper sandblasting procedures
- Fixture installation: Experience in installing fixtures and equipment after sandblasting is complete
- Remodeling: Understanding of remodeling processes and the role of sandblasting in the renovation process
