Position Specification
CMM Programmer (Zeiss)
- Minimum of Three (3) years of machine shop manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of machine shop manufacturing practices, principles and operations.
- Ability to read and interpret geometrical/dimensional mechanical drawings; use shop mathematics with a high competency in use of precision measuring instruments.
- High mechanical ability and adaptability to change with technology.
- Knowledge of Zeiss, Plate and hand tools.
- Experience programming CMM's using various software, Calypso preferred.
- Proficient with GD&T
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Possess high integrity and ethical standards.
- Demonstrates basic computer skills.
- Ability to plan and perform unusual and difficult work processes.
- Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all level employees, customers and vendors
- Stong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports production in all areas of the Quality System and has full lateral authority working as a team to cross any functional area in the problem-solving effort.
- Set up gauging and perform first article and WIP inspections for multiple operations and flow of products.
- Checks, verifies, and records results including SPC and other statistical techniques involving machined parts, using precision measuring instruments which are used to maintain our Quality System.
- Interfaces with Production, Manufacturing Engineering and other functions on processing issues and works as a team to develop a "capable" process.
- Set up appropriate hand tools to manually inspect parts and/or validate programs written to inspect parts flowing through the process.
- Write/edit CMM Software to ensure parts are inspected as efficiently as possible.
- Inspects parts to ensure specified dimensions are met using CMM equipment, as well as other various inspection equipment.
- Performs visual, in-process and final inspections on all parts for cracks, nicks, pits, burrs, blends and surface finish before parts are deemed acceptable.
- Identifies and reports all process and product nonconformance to ensure that the facility is operating per Quality Standards.
- Continuously builds technical skills in area of expertise and performs other duties as required.
- Learn and adhere to required safety standards and procedures.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
