What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at BARNES?
Core Responsitbiliies:
- Performs various skilled tasks in the repair and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair machines (mechanical and electrical).
- Test, maintain, repair and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers and pressure gauges.
- Installs electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls, outlets, fixtures, motors and other such equipment, compliant to electrical code.
- Checks and repairs pumps, fans, valves and motors.
- Adjusts, repairs and replaces electrical and electronic pneumatic relays.
- Prepares accurate records for preventive maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
- Interact with associates in scheduling and performing work.
Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge in motor controls, electronics, blueprint and schematics reading, CNC Repair and a mechanical background.
- Must be able to communicate with all level of personnel effectively and be a team player
- Able to us basic math to add, subtract, multiply or divide and may work with fractions, decimals or percentages.
- Able to use own resources to assure quality workmanship and assumes responsibility for own work.
- Must have a safety background with experience in Lockout/Tagout, Electrical Safety, Crane Safety and Confined Spaces.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs on occasion and lift up to 50 lbs overhead.
- Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S.
