Job Description :
Operates a tractor trailer to load, transport and unload construction and paving equipment from job locations. Has a vast knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations as well as local laws and ordinances concerning proper load securement, permits, and oversize loads. Must have the physical ability as well as knowledge to secure each load with the correct number of chains to secure the load. Must possess a CDL A and no restriction to operate a semi or combination commercial motor vehicle to transport most type of construction equipment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities :
- Operate a Low Boy to transport equipment but not limited to the type of truck used.
- Must be able to perform pre-trip, during trip and post-trip inspections.
- Transport and deliver construction materials to projects in a timely manner.
- May perform other duties and operate other types of trucks.
- Must have adequate reading and writing skills because some paperwork is required.
