Job Description :
The Survey Party Chief is responsible for overseeing and executing construction staking for various projects, including NCDOT, municipal, and private civil construction. This role ensures the accurate, timely, and efficient completion of survey tasks, collaborating closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen. The Survey Party Chief is also tasked with troubleshooting and correcting field-related issues while performing required survey-related tasks such as boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and drone surveys.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead Survey Crew
Supervise and direct the survey crew in the field, ensuring construction staking activities are carried out efficiently and accurately.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to schedule and coordinate staking activities for construction projects.
Accurately prepare and provide detailed cost estimates for surveying projects.
Identify and resolve field-related construction issues, specifically related to layout, drainage, and staking, ensuring that all work complies with project specifications and regulatory requirements.
Perform calculations and checks of staking plans to verify accuracy and ensure correct implementation in the field.
Conduct additional survey-related work as needed, including boundary surveys, existing topographic surveys, and utilizing drone technology for surveying purposes.
Qualifications :
Associates / bachelor's degree in civil engineering or surveying (Preferred)
Strong understanding of construction staking techniques and tools.
AutoCad (Preferred)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for coordinating with project teams and providing clear directions to the crew.
Lift 50 lbs.
