Position: Counter Sales Representative

Reports To: Customer Service Supervisor/Branch Manager

What You’ll Do:

As a Counter Sales Representative, you’ll be on the frontlines of our operations, helping our customers get the products and services they need for their construction projects. You’ll play a key role in building relationships with customers and supporting our outside sales reps. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

  • Provide Exceptional Service: Take orders via phone or face-to-face from salespeople and customers, ensuring that all orders are delivered on time.
  • Drive Sales: Manage and generate sales from existing accounts and continuously build relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Become a Product Expert: Gain deep knowledge of all our product lines and confidently recommend additional products that will help our customers complete their projects successfully.
  • Stay Organized: Maintain accurate open orders and cycle counts, keep the showroom clean and organized, and make sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
  • Collaborate: Work with other departments to ensure accuracy and timely deliveries, handle returns, and process fabrication and special orders as needed.
  • Promote Barnsco: Actively present and promote our comprehensive range of products and services to both current and potential customers.
  • Variety: Perform other duties as assigned by the Customer Service Supervisor – no two days are the same!

What We’re Looking For:

We want someone who is ready to thrive in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment. Here’s what you’ll need to succeed in this role:

  • Education & Experience: High School Diploma/GED required. 1-3 years of experience in sales is preferred.
  • Organizational Skills: You’ll be juggling multiple tasks, so strong organizational skills are essential.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook).
  • Strong Communication: You’ll be working with customers face-to-face and over the phone, so excellent communication skills are a must.
  • Time Management: You’ll be managing multiple priorities, so being able to manage your time efficiently is key.
  • Problem Solver: You’ll need to think on your feet and resolve issues quickly.
  • Bilingual (Preferred): Fluency in both English and Spanish is a plus.
