Job Description: Math Interventionist (Middle School)
Location: Macedonia Middle School / Guinyard Butler Middle School shared position
Contract: 190 days, Full-time position
School Year: 2025-2026
Reports to: Director of Middle School Programs and School Level Principals
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Math Interventionist to join our middle school teams to support the Palmetto Math High-Dose Tutoring Initiative. This shared position will focus on supporting student achievement in mathematics through targeted intervention to students who need additional academic support. The ideal candidate will collaborate with teachers, students, and families to foster a positive learning environment and improve student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Interventionist:
- Provide small-group and individualized interventions for students struggling with math concepts.
- Develop and implement intervention plans based on student assessment data.
- Collaborate with teachers to track student progress and adjust interventions as needed.
- Use research-based strategies to help students build foundational math skills and improve their academic performance.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, and intervention outcomes.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and strategies for home support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Middle Level Education, Mathematics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification (or appropriate certification for the state).
- Experience in teaching or coaching elementary school math is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of math curriculum, instructional strategies, and intervention techniques.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students and teachers to achieve their best.
Compensation:
- Compensation will be based on the BCSD approved salary schedule for classroom teachers.
