POSITION TITLE: Insurance Sales Agent
REPORTS TO: Director of Insurance

SUMMARY: Develops strong working relationships with each new potential prospect to understand their individual situation, analyze their needs, provide efficient solutions and cross-sell products as appropriate. The Insurance Sales Agent is vital to developing, maintaining and growing a profitable customer base and further enhancing the reputation and influence of Baron Insurance Group in the greater community.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Converts personal or commercial lines prospects into new, profitable Baron clients per the agency sales process while adhering to all carrier and agency underwriting and E&O guidelines (i.e., property inspections, new policy checklists, New Business Checklist entries)

- Documents customer interaction in Pipedrive by taking discovery call notes, proposal review notes, and any other meaningful interactions that shaped the new insurance policies and/or final outcomes

- Documents policy checklists for each new auto or property policy in IMS agency management system to ensure no errors or omissions were made on the new policies

- Reviews property inspections for any new property policies and follows up any noted concerns to ensure requested or mandated work from agency and/or carrier is satisfied by the new client

- Resolves any errors in the monthly sales audit process as provided by the Personal Lines Sales Lead to eliminate existing E&O issues

- Builds, manages, and grows a pipeline of new, profitable personal lines prospects

- Determines daily priorities and maintains macro sales process & micro new business lead organization by effectively using our Pipedrive lead management system

- Builds, manages and grows a network of key relationships that drives agency growth

- Rounds out other P&C policy needs at the point of sale (Ex- rentals, umbrella, motorcycle, etc.)

- Cross-sells or pivots life and disability insurance opportunities at point of sale

- Works with the PL Sales Lead in order to consistently improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the agency sales process

- Works cooperatively with the Personal Lines Sales and Service teams to meet team-based objectives

- Increases agency online reviews and online reputation

- Works with the Sales Lead in order to identify and innovate new ways to build the Baron brand in our community

- Identifies and refers commercial leads to the commercial team

- Maintains strong working relationship with carrier personnel, especially underwriting

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in an office environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifteen (15) pounds and may infrequently lift and/or move over twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required of this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and peripheral vision.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. Occasional evening, and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

TRAVEL: Occasional travel between Manheim and Gordonville office.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree in business or finance field preferred, Property & Casualty Insurance license preferred but optional for strong candidate who can pursue licensure ASAP

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check and substance abuse screen.
